Administrative History In 1994 the San Jose Office of Cultural Affairs conducted a survey of outdoor sculptures in Santa Clara County for preservation and conservation purposes. Vermont SOS was part of a national project of the National Museum of American Art, Smithsonian Institution, and the National Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Property. Locally, the project was sponsored by the Vermont Museum and Gallery Alliance (VMGA).
